Mode of Action
Understanding the mechanism of FINOX
Oxyfluorfen inhibits protoporphyrinogen oxidase (PPO), disrupting chlorophyll biosynthesis in susceptible weeds. In the presence of light, toxic porphyrin intermediates accumulate within the plant tissues. This causes membrane lipid peroxidation, cellular disruption, and rapid weed death. Its light-activated mode of action provides effective pre-emergence and early post-emergence weed control.
